21 detainees including 04 women arrested under the PTA

A total of 21 detainees including 04 women who were arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in Colombo and the Northern province in 2014 on the charges of revamping and regrouping the banned LTTE were released without any charges on February 21, 2023 by the Colombo Magistrate. Attorneys-at-law V.S. Nirachan and Ranitha Gnanarajah appeared on behalf of the victims.

The above prisoners detained in Vauniya, Kilinochchi, Colombo and Bussa Detention Centre were released on strict bail conditions in 2015 and 2016.
