CHRD conducts an awareness program in Batticaloa

CHRD conducts an awareness training program was held at American mission, Batticaloa on September 17, 2018.

The participants for the training program were NGO representatives, Psychosocial supporters, ex-combatants, families of the disappeared, female headed household and youth. The participants were from both Batticaloa Ampara. There were a total of 35 participants out of them 19 were females.

The Participants conversed that the Government must take full responsibility for the disappeared persons. The participants raised questions that even with the United Nations coming forward and applying pressure to the Government, the GOSL still hasn’t provided answers for the missing persons. The participants also requested that international organizations must apply pressure to the UN to get justice for the disappeared victims.
