CHRD conducts an awareness training program in Vavuniya

An awareness training program was held at Rural development hall, Vavuniya on October 22, 2018.

The participants for the training program were NGO representatives, grass root levels, ex-combatants, families of the disappeared, female headed household, WDO’s, government officials and youth. Rev. Fr. Ezhilrajan was the resource person. There were a total of 37 participants out of them 28 were females.

During the meeting the participants discussed that their path to justice must not be hindered by the reparation mechanism of providing the 6000-rupee incentive for the families of the disappeared. CHRD staff advised the participants that the families of the disappeared must cross-examine articles that contain their stories in order to prevent errors and manipulation of data.
