CHRD’s Panel lawyers of the Mannar district held a training program on 15, September 2018 In Manthai west Illupukadavai village.

The main motive of the training program is to create awareness within the Illupukadavai villagers on Woman and children rights as well as to inform the harmful effects of drugs and its abuse.

It is apt to mention that the usage of drugs have increased drastically over the years and the villagers of Illupukadavai suspect foul play by the police and security forces. This suspicion rose as the police takes no action to control drugs as well as even if the villagers get hold of drug dealers and hand them over to the police, the police tends not to take action or produce suspects to the court.

The villagers of Illupukadavai have given a complaint in writing to CHRD staff to hand it over to the Police to take necessary action in controlling drugs.
